How much does Runna cost? The full price picture in 2026
Runna costs about $17 per month or $110 per year. Here is the full price picture in 2026, what you get for the money, and what the alternatives cost.
Runna costs about $17 per month or $110 per year, and the first week is free. The figures are from runna.com in June 2026. Prices change, so check in the app before you commit.
Paying monthly adds up to about $204 over a year. The annual plan costs roughly half of that and works out to just over $9 per month, so the break-even point sits at just over six months. If you expect to use the app longer than that, the annual plan is the only sensible choice.
What you get for the money
Runna is well made and popular for a reason. The plans cover everything from 5K to ultra, sessions sync to your watch and guide your pace, and strength and mobility work is included alongside the running. The App Store rating sits at 4.9, and the app has been owned by Strava since the acquisition.
What you don't get is a coach that answers. The chat in the app is customer support, not training dialogue, and the plan is not recalculated based on how you sleep or recover. We go through the differences in detail in Runna alternatives: what to know before you choose.

Is Runna worth $17 a month?
Price is not Runna's problem. If you're a beginner, or you want a clear schedule with pace guidance on your watch, you get a lot for the money, and the answer is probably yes.
The question is whether you use what you pay for. Runna is plan-led: you get a schedule and follow it, and if something needs to change you mostly change it yourself. If you already adjust sessions on your own based on sleep, stress and how your legs feel, you're paying $204 a year for something a training book does for twenty bucks.
Where Coach Fartlek comes in
Coach Fartlek is our own app, so expect bias. Pro costs $8.49 per month and you can try it for free. Elite at $20.99 gives you more chat capacity, not any features missing from Pro.
The difference from Runna is not primarily the price. The coach reads every workout that syncs from Intervals.icu and reaches out on its own after hard sessions. Tell it in your own words that your week fell apart and the plan is rewritten around that, with HRV, resting heart rate and sleep weighed into what you should do next.
The app requires a watch (Garmin, Coros, Suunto or Polar) connected via Intervals.icu. If you don't have one, Coach Fartlek is the wrong app for you. It covers 5K to marathon, not ultra or multisport, and if you're a beginner who mostly wants pace guidance on the watch, Runna is probably the better first choice despite the price difference.
