Coach Fartlek 2.0 is here

Coach Fartlek 2.0 is out now. A new interface, a light theme and a new start that puts you straight in the chat while the coach sets everything up in the background.

Coach Fartlek 2.0 is now out on the App Store and Google Play. Most of our summer went into this update, so it feels good to finally get it out.

The first thing you'll notice is that the app looks completely different. We've rebuilt the interface from the ground up. The hamburger menu is gone, replaced by three tabs: the calendar, the coach and your profile. The app also finally has a light theme. It follows your phone's setting now, so if you use light mode you no longer get a pitch black app.

The biggest change is how you get started. You used to answer a long series of questions before you even met the coach. We've turned that around. Now you land straight in the chat, and while you talk the coach works in the background: it syncs your history, works out your zones, suggests races it finds and puts your first plan in the calendar. A checklist shows what's left. If you don't have a watch you can log your runs manually instead.

Beyond that there's a long list of smaller things. Timestamps on chat messages, GPX and TCX import, a new week view for when you can train and plenty of polish.

If you already have the app, just update. Everything you've done is still there, and the checklist ticks off what's already done.

Thanks to everyone who tested and shared feedback this summer. A lot of this version comes straight from your input.
